What is Lifeline and do I qualify?

The Lifeline program is a federal program dedicated to making phone and internet service more affordable for low-income households. The program includes access to a telephone network with unlimited local calls, access to 911 emergency services, and access to 20 Mbps broadband internet.*

How to apply?

Create an account and complete the online application.

If the Lifeline National verifier is not able to prove that you qualify with the information provided, they will request that you upload verifiable documentation, proof of residency and photo ID on the online portal. You’ll have 45 days after you start the application to finish it.

Who is eligible?

A household is eligible if it has income that is below 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines or participates in one of the following government assistance programs:

 Medicaid/SoonerCare

 Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

 Supplemental Security Income (SSI)

 Federal Public Housing Assistance (Section 8)

 Veterans or Survivors Pension Benefit

 Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance

 Tribal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TTANF)

 Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR)

 Head Start (if income eligibility criteria are met)
